The Bryonia Rebrand

Bryonia

A new direction for 2022 and beyond.

It’s finally time to begin my new chapter as Bryonia, and wow it honestly feels like such a long time coming. This change has been in the works for nearly 9 months, and I’m proud it’s finally out there in the open.

I established myself as ‘Florist Rookie’ way back in Australia in 2019. Since then, I have invested much of my time, energy and finances into growing an established floral design studio in Manchester.

There were a few reasons that I felt a brand change was necessary at this point…

  • The time had come for a change as I had outgrown the ‘Rookie’ branding, and the maturity of the brand meant I needed to shift things into a new direction. Bryonia allows for further growth as I continue to expand my floral portfolio.

  • I have invested into training, where I had the opportunity to try different types and approaches to floristry. Through doing this, I have learnt much more about my own style and what I enjoy most, Bryonia allows me to explore this further.

  • Weddings & events are probably up there as my favourite type of work, and I’ve learnt that through experience. The bustle of a wedding morning during the venue set up, and a coffee catchup with a bride that just can’t decide if a flower crown is right for her, and organising natural silk dyed ribbons to adorn the bouncy bouquets filled with seasonal flowers. This rebranding allows me to move towards the direction of work that I enjoy the most and feel passionate about.

So why Bryonia?

Bryonia is a very special and important personal name for me, with its latin origin meaning "to sprout".

It is an unusually strong plant name - wild, climbing & earthy with green flowers.

My middle name is Bryony so I feel personally connected to the flowers I’m creating.

It also feels right, completely relevant, and it captures the essence of the Seasonal Floral Studio that I have built in Manchester.

What happens next?

As I start the new year, with a new identity but the same me behind the scenes, I feel liberated. That’s the best way to describe it. It’s completely freeing, exhilarating and full of promise. Perfectly aligned with the fresh start of a new year.

My personality can’t help but find it’s way into all elements of my work, and tackling the year ahead with a renewed vigour for where I want to go & how best to get there, is the most energising promise of something exciting is happening.

Thank you to everyone who has been with me throughout this floral journey, all the way from Melbourne, to Salford and now to Bryonia’s chapter. I wouldn’t be here without all of your support to date.

I appreciate every single one of you,

Jenna (owner & floral designer) x
